My Story

How I got to where I am today

Ever since I was a kid, storytelling has been my passion. I started writing at a young age in my childhood diary, documenting life experiences from crushes to memorable family vacations. As I grew older, my storytelling evolved into capturing photos and videos to preserve moments like friends' birthdays, holidays and special milestones.

Fast-forward to senior year of high school, and I still had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. Should I be a vet? A teacher? An interior designer? I began a new chapter at Johnson & Wales University as an undeclared major, but everything changed when I wrote a “This I Believe” essay in my Rhetoric Composition class. It reignited the joy I once found in writing and made me yearn for more. I began taking more media classes, including multimedia storytelling, and that's when I realized the answer to the question, "What do I want to do with my life?" had been right in front of me all along. I changed my major to media and communications and rediscovered the same passion I had as a kid.

What drew me in, and still inspires me today, is how writing, photography and video can work together to create one cohesive story. To me, storytelling is about more than sharing information; it's about bringing stories to life in a way that connects with people. Whether it's telling the story of a small business and how it got started, highlighting an organization's impact or helping shape a brand's mission in the community, storytelling has power and purpose.

I’m eager to keep learning, continue growing as a multimedia professional and keep telling meaningful stories that inform, inspire and connect people.
